Critical thinking skills is the ability to use the mind to evaluate the fairness of an idea or, the advantages and disadvantages of an argument and to consider appropriate to use reason and evidence .

Examples of critical skills is as follows:

• Compare and contrust
• classification
• Parts and Whole
• Sekuens
• Uncovering assumption
• prediction
• Inference
• Verifying the source of information

Creative thinking skills is the ability to use the mind to explore various possibilities to produce something new and original

Some examples of creative thinking skills include:
• Generate of ideas,
• Creating analogy
• Creating a Metaphor

What is the definition and purpose of thinking skills?

The appropriate definition for the concept of thinking skills still discussed, because most of thinkers have different one. For example George (1970) saw as a thinking a process for problem solving and complex natural behavior. Edward de Bono (1976) also associate with
lateral thinking skills which means not only to resolve the result of an issue, but also thought to see something based on different perspectives to solve the problem.

Mayer (1977) also view thinking as involving the supervision of certain mental operations that occur in the mind or cognitive system a person who seeks to solve the problem.

Another definition is quite interesting to think about is the definition given by Vincent Ryan Ruggiero (1984):

"Thinking is any mental activity that helps formulate or solve a problem, make a decision, or fulfill a desire to understand. It is a searching for answers, a reaching for meaning. "
